Delicious Pea, Bacon and Feta Cheese Noodles
Noodles with creamy sauce, crispy bacon, peas and feta cheese.
INGREDIENTS
2 pkts MAGGI 2-Minute Chicken Noodles
2 Tbsps (30ml) butter
1 Tbsp (15ml) cake flour
⅓ Cup (180ml) reserved noodle broth
1 Can (380g) NESTLÉ Ideal Medium Fat Evaporated Milk
1 tsp (5ml) lemon zest and juice
½ Cup (75g) frozen peas
50 grams Bacon Rashers
½ Cup (60g) feta cheese
1 Tbsp (15ml) fresh parsley or chives
Black pepper
1 Tbsp (15ml) MAGGI Original Chilli Sauce
METHOD
Prepare the MAGGI Crispy Chicken Flavour 2-Minute Noodles following the instructions on the packet.
When the noodles are ready, keep ⅓ cup (180ml) of the broth on the side and discard the rest. Keep the prepared noodles covered until they are ready to use.
Fry the bacon in a little oil or butter until crispy and then chop into pieces to save for later.
Melt the butter in a pan, then stir in the cake flour. Cook for 1 minute and then whisk in the reserved noodle broth and creamy NESTLÉ Ideal Medium Fat Evaporated Milk.
Cook for 3-4 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
TIP: Make sure the sauce hasn’t thickened fully when you take the pan off the heat. It will thicken up as it cools down.
Stir in the MAGGI Original Chilli Sauce, lemon zest and juice – this will offset the richness of the dish perfectly.
Place the peas in boiling water for 2 minutes and drain.
TIP: The peas don’t need a lot of time - just enough to heat them up. Take care not to over-cook them.
Add the cooked noodles, peas, bacon and feta cheese to the sauce. Combine gently and heat through.
Season the dish with a dash of black pepper and garnish with fresh parsley or chives.
Finally, tuck in and enjoy!
