5 Ingredient Savoury Muffins Recipe

A savoury brunch treat.

INGREDIENTS

5 Tbsps NESTLÉ KLIM Full Cream Instant Milk Powder
2 cups Self-raising Flour
1 cup Cheese grated
¼ cup Baby Spinach
3 Tbsps Crumbled Feta
¼ cup Biltong
3 Tbsps Peppadews
¼ cup Caramelised Onions
1 Tbsp Chives

METHOD

Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a 12-hole muffin tray with cupcake liners.
To make a milk mixture: In a large bowl, mix together 4 tablespoons of cold water with the NESTLÉ KLIM Full Cream Instant Milk Powder to form a paste. Pour in 1½ cups of water while whisking until combined and it takes on a creamy texture.
Sieve the self-raising flour into the milk mixture. Add the grated cheese and gently fold together until combined. Divide the batter into three smaller bowls.
Into the first bowl: Fold in ¼ cup of fresh baby spinach and the crumbled feta. Into the second bowl: fold in the biltong and juicy peppadew. Into the third bowl: Fold the caramelised onions and chives. (Store-bought caramelised onions work well if you don’t have the time to cook them from scratch)
Scoop each batter into the muffin pan and bake at 180°C for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Lastly, serve the muffins warm with butter or add it to a lunch box for a delicious, cheesy treat! NB: The copy on the current website states that there are 0 mins cooking time. This should change to “baking time: the correct number of mins”
