Peppermint Crisp Trifle

What can be better on a warm sunny day than peppermint Crisp Trifle. Easy to prepare with Nestlé Caramel Treat

INGREDIENTS

250g Chocolate sponge cake, cubed
160g NESTLÉ Milk or Dark Chocolate
1 Can NESTLÉ Dessert & Cooking Cream
1 Can (360g) NESTLÉ Mint Flavoured Caramel Treat
80g NESTLÉ Peppermint Crisp, crumbled
1 Packet Coconut Biscuits, crumbled
250ml NESTLÉ Whipping Cream
Fresh Mint Leaves

METHOD

Crumble the Peppermint Crisp and coconut biscuits into a separate bowl. Remember to keep some aside for sprinkling over as garnish.
Place the chocolate cubes of sponge cake in the base of a trifle dish.
Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of barely simmering water and stir in half a can of the NESTLÉ Dessert & Cooking Cream. Remove from the pan and spoon this mixture over the sponge pieces.
Whisk one can of NESTLÉ Mint Flavoured Caramel Treat and the remaining half can of NESTLÉ Dessert & Cooking Cream until well combined.
Fold in the NESTLÉ Peppermint Crisp and biscuit crumbs. Spoon the mixture over the chocolate base. Cover and chill until fully set. TIP: For best results, prepare your Peppermint Crisp trifle a day ahead of time, giving it enough time to set properly overnight in the fridge.
Just before serving, whip the cream and spoon onto the trifle. TIP: Try not to overwhip your cream – you don’t want to end up with butter. Aim for stiff peaks, where the cream stays on the whisk when lifted.
Lastly, garnish the trifle with the Peppermint Crisp and biscuit crumbs for some added crunch and sprinkle with fresh mint leaves. Take a moment of sheer indulgence and enjoy!
